Staff Spotlight: Priscilla Ashlee Pierre

Priscilla Ashlee Pierre is a Communications Assistant at the Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions. Pierre is a recent Rutgers University graduate in May 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Comm-PR with a Minor in Criminology.

What Pierre loves most about her department is what it stands for. The Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions works with HBCUs, HSIs, and other minority emphasized institutions. She’s inspired by the contribution of growth, success, and knowledge.

Pierre believes education is crucial to whatever you do in life. Whether you’re a host at a restaurant to being a media professional, some form of education or skill is necessary. You never know what one comes across and learning opportunities when you least expect it.

So far, Pierre enjoys that her work environment is very comfortable and suitable. Although she’s a recent addition, Pierre feels like she’s already a part of the team as her colleagues are very approachable and open-minded. It’s a space that makes it easy to talk about concerns or uncertainties. Furthermore, talking about goals and growth is something she values in work environments in addition to having supervisors and co-workers that support her journey. Pierre finds those important qualities at the Rutgers Center for Minority Serving Institutions.

To destress, Priscilla enjoys listening to music, photography, and recently getting into DJ’ing. She enjoys unwinding with her friends and family, watching movies, and discovering new foods.
